The creative day rate is the cost of hiring a photographer to appear on location and photograph the desired scene. The creative fee may or may not include transportation fees, depending on how close the location is to the photographer's standard service area.

The per-photo cost of a photography shoot may be calculated by multiplying the per-photo license fee by the total number of photos licensed, adding the creative day rate, and then dividing by the total number of photos licensed.
